Antikythera at the Royal Institution

Largest fragment of the Antikythera mechanism

Just a quick note today to say that I'll be giving a talk on the Antikythera mechanism at the Royal Institution in London on Tuesday 28 July. It's a wonderful venue, and if you're in the area it would be lovely to see you there - more details here.

The date works perfectly to celebrate the launch of the paperback edition of Decoding the Heavens in the UK - it is officially out on 6 August, but advance copies will be available at the event.

Attended Jo Marchant's lecture last night - had read about the mechanism but her talk filled in much of the surrounding detail about its finding and the work on it over the decades.  More information about the various scientists involved rounded it all out to an extremely informative and interesting evening.     Thank you!

Congratulations on posting the link to the animation so quickly, it's almost impossible for a non-specialist to grasp just how all the pieces go together, even though I already had some background knowledge. A fascinating talk, and the illustrative material was well-chosen and helpful.

I am a great grandmother, a non-specialist, yet I am able to put the pieces together and have been doing so for the past eight years.  CERN and others post links about the missing Higgs Boson.  The Higgs Boson exists.  I have not just discovered the Higgs Boson, I experienced the 3-day "0" power challenge from 28-8-2002 to and including 30-8-2002 and, since 29 September 2009, have sent over 10,000 pages of numerical evidence to CERN and have not received one acknowledgement.  The numbers locked into the CERN Logo are those of Higgs Boson 279 and 209, the number 279 is the outcome of the numbers 1-9 calculated using the special kabala revealed through God's power.    279-223=56.  CERN's physics program begins again in February 2012:  2010-56=1954 which is the year of the creation of CERN.  223-209=14.  Reverse 14 and it becomes 41:  14+41=55.  We are in the year 2009 as I write this on 23-12-2009:  2009-55=1954 which is the year of the creation of CERN.  I only have one document up on the my website because it is the only document I've been able to upload thus far, but I will copy this entry and place it on my index page.    Thank you for a great book.      Angela Laughton
